Next step!!!

Thanks for accepting for our database design!!!! All the 3 designs were Good and each had something unique and good and also had some flaws.
So from now onwards all 6 of us will be working on the selected database design and will be refining it so that all the good points are included in it. We have started working on the code and will be sending the MySQL code soon. The only thing that is required at this moment is that proper management of time and resources. Since all 6 of us may not be together at the same time but still because of the messenger and e-mails we are able to communicate.

Response to christelle mam's questions

The RFP letter Was the letter clear? - Yes indeed it was clear and very well written. We got to know what we were supposed to do. The templates were also provided which was of great help.
Was the process well-explained? - Ya the process was explained quite well Were the deadlines clear? - Deadlines were fine as we doubled our speed of work to meet the deadlines and hence completed the work on time.
Was the list of required items provided? - Yes , as i said above the templates were there. - Your work * Did you submit all required pieces of work? - we had submitted these documents :-Database design ,MySQL code , ER diagrams and along with that we had submitted tutorials on ER diagrams and Union types of EER diagrams since we had used a feature of EER diagrams.
How did you work together? - We had a nice time working together, had so many discussions and brain storming sessions. After doing the common part together we divided the work and both of us did our part to the level best and hence completed the whole document on time.
Did you work only in your group of 2 students? - yes we were a group of two
did you share work with the other Indian teams? - Well since we were told not to discuss much with each other but we used to discuss on some doubts regarding the requirements documents of student and librarian. But not about the database designs
How often did you meet? - Well we met almost daily since all of us are in the same class and also colleagues
What were the main problems/difficulti es? Communication? Missing documents? Access to the wiki? Requirements documents? Missing deadlines?- The very first difficulty was Requiremenst documents as there were many things which were not clear and so we exchanged mails with the US students and they did replied back with the information thay had about our queries and for the rest they forwarded the queries to PACE students. Till date we have had just one chat with the US students because of the time factor. We were not free in the mornings as we had classes and they were free at that time.
What were the main problems in the requirements documents?- The requirements documents are well written and presented butproblem is that some things require examples and illustrations. For that matter we are continously sending our queries through emails.
What was easy in the process? - Well the process was not difficult but its just that it needed proper division of time and work. And thats why we had discussions almost daily either in the college or on chats.
Did you have chats with the US students? Why? - yes we had a chat with US students and the reason was we had doubts in the requirements documents
Were you satisfied with your work?- Yes ofcourse!!!!
The acceptance letter * Was the letter clear?* Did you agree with the comments that were made? - Yes we received the acceptance letter and liked the comments and would like to thank them for their appreciation of our document.Though they want to have a chat with us to clarify some doubts but since we are having our major exams so thats why we are not able to have a chat session with them. Hope you will understand our problem!!!!

First version!!

We have submitted the first version of database design of the Global Software Development Project “MultiLIB System” . It feels good to work on a project with such a perfect division of work and that too with different teams from different cultures.
We have also prepared and submitted a tutorial in order to understand one of the extended feature of ER diagrams that we have used in our design since after including this feature the design was simplified to a large extent. We still need some more information and we have informed the US students about our requirements. Since the queries are mostly related to the formats of various attributes so not major changes will be required in the design. We'll try our best to prepare the final database design document a.s.a.p. We are focussing on providing a professional, non redundant and simple database design.

Finally we had a chat!!

At last we had an online meeting today with the US students.
It was a nice experience talking to them. Moreover it was also a new experience ( so many minds clicking at the same time :) )!!!!
As the deadline for submitting the ERD's is approaching we are just focusing our minds on this...Time to pull up our socks!!!
